What is neuromuscular therapy or NMT?  NMT applies deep tissue massage techniques to specific trigger points that stimulate and provide release in your muscular system while at the same time integrating optimum results for your central nervous system (brain, spinal cord and nerves). NMT provides neuromuscular pain relief that unlocks the body, permits normalization of physiological disturbances and restores basic homeostasis (constancy or stability).

For the nervous system, NMT dampens sympathetic overdrive, mimicking the calming action of a beta-blocking drug. It removes noxious stimuli within the body that are responsible for muscle spasms, blood vessel constriction and the pain-disease cycle of chronic misery. This is a type of therapy that has much success when a variety of other treatments have not.

Even if you don’t feel you need such a specialized technique as NMT, basic massage provides many benefits as well, such as reducing stress, providing deep relaxation throughout the entire body, reducing mental stress therefore increasing the capacity for clearer thinking, improving circulation, relaxing muscle spasm and relieving tension. Massage rids the body of toxins and increases the blood supply and nutrition throughout the body to all soft tissue and organs.

Cranial Release Technique or CRT is a natural, hands-on approach to releasing the body’s inborn capacity to heal and regenerate itself. CRT works to restore proper function to the nervous system and proper balance to the body structure and it has positive effects on a variety of conditions ranging from aches and pains to overall health and wellness.

CRT can be applied in one minute of time, yet it has profound effects on overall health and well-being! In a matter of just one minute, CRT, releases the bones of the skull which initiates a release of all the tissues and structures associated with the cranium, including: the spine, pelvis, and all the extremities (shoulder, hips, and knees.)

CRT essentially helps the nervous system work optimally.  It allows our body to respond to stress (good or bad) in a positive way rather than by causing pain and disease. All the systems of the body work more efficiently!

Neuromuscular Therapy is recommended for a variety of injuries and pain such as migraines, headaches, carpal tunnel, TMJ deficiency, tendonitis, shin splints, knee or shoulder issues, earaches, any neurological issues like ADHD, autism, or any neck or spinal issue. The primary goals of massage and CRT include stretching of soft tissue, pain relief, structural balance, enhanced movement, increased range of motion and relaxation!
